Harsh finally got his train. Indeed, the journey from Dadar to Dombivali is quite time-consuming. As the train started to move from the platform, he went into his happy dilemma and those past romantic moments of how they met each other for the first time. As the train was passing by Harsh had his moments passing by.

When did they meet for the first time?

It was a normal first day of college, and as usual whoever came early got the last seats in the class. Harsh was one of those who successfully occupied the second-to-last bench in the class. The major benefit of having a seat in the last row is that we get a whole view of the class. No filmy drama here. It all started as it does. A normal first lecture was to begin. It has been 10–12 minutes since starting a lecture and a girl suddenly enters in the class. She wasn't the prettiest girl in the room but Harsh had his glance on her on the very first day of college and had a crush. The whole class was new to him but being an extrovert, he had his backbencher group on the first day before the class started. Now Harsh somehow wanted to go and talk to the girl who had arrived late to the class. Without hesitation, he went when there was a 20-minute break between the lectures.

Harsh-Hey! (very confident tone)

That Girl-Hi (normal)

Harsh-What's your name? (Directly on point, no lingering around)

That Girl- Shruti, What about yours?

Harsh-My name is Harsh  but you can call me tonight. (realizing he had messed up his chances on the very second line but it was too late now to realize)

Shruti- Ok tonight.

and they both laughed off it and the chat continued.

That's how they first met each other and how Harsh sucked in front of her from the very first day till now. It was a pretty decent start until he used a pickup line but nevermind, they both laughed that off. That one conversation continued and with the time passing by, they became very good friends. Until the major boy's problem arises, that is falling in love with their best friend. Even though Harsh had "love at first sight" for Shruti but he preferred to take a long way by being her friend , knowing her , being her best friend and then impressing her. Because his pickup line failed to impress her on the first day, but he was able to laugh her off due to lighting strikes. Time flies together. While Harsh was deep into the past memories, a sudden sound snapped him out. It was announced, "Next station, Dombivali" which jolted Harsh back to reality.

Harsh was overjoyed as he confessed something he had for Shruti since his first year of college in his final year. He came off the train and it was pretty late for him to arrive here. But he was content within. He walked out of the station, got a rickshaw and came home directly. He had his dinner at night but whatever he was doing, he had satisfaction inside. He did all the basic chores that we do after coming home and went to his bed. He took a breath of relief by closing his eyes and was expecting a yes or no from her as he confessed his feelings. With all his heartfelt courage, he picked up his mobile and it was sad to see there was no message from her side. The last time they were seen and chatted was a month ago. Seeing that screen (refer to the image) sudden tears of Harsh started to rush down. He finally let go of his regret by confessing to her but it was too late. Shruti was deceased a month ago. Harsh finally defogged his feelings for her today but nothing matters when a person is gone right? All those moments he spent on the beach and at the train station were merely the illusions of Shruti that were developed because he failed to confess it when she was there. Shruti passed away, yet alive in his unconscious mind. He surely faced vain .While seeing those one-month old messages, he had regret of not speaking and it will forever remain within his heart but also he confessed to an illusion of hers in his mind which will go long for lifetime but late is late, right?
