Social media distraction is very bad for our mental health and we all know that yet we all scroll through Instagram, Facebook, and other social media's and waste most of our time and internet there. Even if we watch one video to motivate ourselves from the distraction of social media, we only follow that for 3 to 4 days and then we get back to our core personality, which wastes time on social media. Why do we fail to apply that after 3-4 days? Why do we get distracted?
The solution is to break your mobile and throw it away. I know you won't do that because nowadays, mobile phones somehow become a part of the human body and there are so many varieties of phones with various features and prices. Even if you break one today, next month or next week, you will buy a new one too. So, I won't be telling you why you get distracted with social media. I'll tell you what this social media app does to distract you. If you understand the "why" factor of why we get distracted, you will automatically know how to not get distracted. I know, it's a little perplexing, but bear with me as I explain.
The Internet is highly addictive.
Potentially, the whole internet is addictive. It is made to keep you engaged in the mode of entertainment because we all like to be entertained. One after another, suggestions, posts, ideas, and many more things to keep you on the particular platform. Of course, content matters too. The more engaging the content, the more engaged the user becomes. I can't keep holding myself to not saying this, but youth should mature and realise the net isn't all concerning about beauty and folks in relationships and low cups and abs and luxury! The net is what you create with it!
Problems with Instagram, Facebook and other social media
The most addictive platform in today's era is Instagram. If you automatically (subconsciously) open your Instagram, then my friend, you are addicted. Why don't you open a book subconsciously to read rather than on Instagram? I know Instagram is a social media site and you have your friends there updating stories and posting things for you to see, but don't you think your hands open that automatically without even knowing it is getting out of hand? Not simply Instagram, however, all different social media assist us in reducing the time we spend with ourselves. It is critical that you recognise yourself and compare yourself. There's no factor in developing up if we do now no longer have a higher concept of who we are. Evaluating oneself facilitates being on the track.
The positive and negative sides of the Internet
Many people in today's time are earning on particular platforms in online mode, which is a good sign for two parties: the consumers and the creators but what about the people who just scroll? I bet if we don't have social duties such as going to school or college or studying and playing or any other thing to do most of us would have scrolled their social media without the time bond which would have extremely harmful. I personally use Instagram I have my own art page but I know the limits even though Social media do have positive sides such as making people close, Online business, exploring and knowing about new stuff but all of this is reality escape and it's ok to if you escape from reality and be in fiction but don't forget that you have to return in real world again.
Unpopular opinion
If you are reading this and you find anything wrong in it or don't agree with me, then it's not my concern because it's a personal blog and I write my mind here. So, I was saying that yeah, social media sucks, but not to the whole extent. Roughly 70 percent of it does sucks, but I use that for the remaining 30 percent. If I have a problem or work, I Google and find a solution. If I want to see something nice or quality content, I go to Pinterest. I have to post my art. I post it on my social media and close it. I miss my friend. I call them and talk. However, there are some good points. Entertainers, singers, and comedians gain exposure and help build a following, which includes the first step to a successful career. We, as users, are also exposed to new ideas and cultures and are becoming more tolerant of one another. Educators and activists can spread their message and start a revolution (e.g., Greta Thunberg)
In summary: Instagram is literally like day and night at the same time, depending on what and why you use it. It can shake your confidence in seconds and then help you get it back. The choice is yours.
A few hints I would give include:
You should think about how long you are spending on Facebook every day and week by week.
Be cautious about messing around on Facebook over and over again. They can be exceptionally habit-forming and you can begin to invest an excessive amount of energy and cash on them.
Try not to be over the top with what you see. Normally, individuals will post pics of themselves at their best and at cheerful events. However, no one's life is awesome.
All things considered, abstain from involving Facebook as a dating site, particularly when it affects individuals you don't definitely be aware, all things considered.
Try not to stress over the number of "likes" you get or don't get on your posts.
In the event that you are now discouraged or have tension or another close to home issue/jumble, do investigate joining a web-based help group on Facebook. There are a few generally excellent ones with individuals who are truly kind and mindful and who can connect with your issues.
Try not to invest an excess of energy in the gatherings anyway, and don't allow the pessimistic individuals to drag you down. In the event that somebody is bugging you or expressing truly dreadful things, quickly report them to a mediator or head, report them to Facebook, and block them.
Try not to post a lot of individual data about yourself.
Try not to exaggerate the selfies.
On the off chance that you feel a genuine impulse to go on Facebook too regularly, have a go at enjoying some time off for a week or thereabouts.
