While doing plentiful attempts of me being social around the workspace one thought never left my mind and that was "why do we say 'hi'?" and after a lot of brain storm I gave up thinking and I just googled it. The funny fact was that their was a rivalry between Thomas Edison and Graham Bell on 'Hi' and 'Ahoy' which both words were even-handed (same). Then I came across an article while researching on 'hi' that the word 'hey' carry no different meaning than 'hi' but the 'hey' was just used to catch the other persons attention. Like 'nice' becomes 'noice', 'ok' becomes 'kk', 'thanks' become 'thenks' and it goes on and on.
After some days the person inside me who wanted to become social vanished. Like it was done because people tend to really be annoying at a times, when you be friendly with them. Especially when someone treats the other person according to their own mood. Like you go in your classroom and you see someone whom you know and you say 'hi' to him and just because he is not in good mood, he will just look into your eyes and ignore what did you just said. Like bro I said you 'hi' I could have easily said 'you smell like shit' but the kind person inside me said you 'hi' respect it over your mood swing and it's really annoying as well as embarrassing if done in front of other people.
As we all know "Different Personality of people" who don't say hello. Four main categories tend to stand out to me:
"Personality in man is what is ‘not his own’ . . . what come from outside, what he has learned, or reflects, all traces of exterior impressions left in the memory." - G. I. Gurdjieff.
Preoccupied individuals – this group is by far the most commonly found everywhere. They don't ignore you, they are just too busy in their stuff and they always be into their own world without the outer disturbance. The preoccupied will say hello nine times out of ten, just not today. They have their bubble and they don't mind anyone else work or what they doing. Leaving them as they are is better thing to do.
Instinctively shy- They are very kind person and saying them 'hi' can really be good idea. They might not say you hi in return but yeah they will smile and that's their way to say hi.
The Unknown- Avoid this people from your life. They pretend to be your friend while you be with them and work on something but as soon as the work is done or the time is passed they suddenly become unknown. Do a project with them for a day and the next day they will see you and pass by you pretending we are unknowns. So, avoid them before getting or working along with them.
The anti-social- Good and Bad people may arise here. Sometimes they are just very egoistic and sometimes they just mind their own business. Being socialise is very tough for them and they hate most of the things people majorly like. Then to it can be divided into 'Positive anti-social'- Positive approach towards people even if they don't want to be socialise, 'Negative anti-social'- Negative approach towards people even if they don't want to be socialise, 'Socially anti-social' - Just start the topic they are interested into and they will forget they are anti-social.
Nobody enjoys the company of others as intensely as someone who usually avoids the company of others.– Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Being social is actual very good thing to be as it helps one-self to improve themselves from within, The qualities of good socialised person are very much needed in todays life.
Sometimes people who are socialised are very annoying to me because -
1.The loud noise- Seriously, why do you want to talk when the topic is over?
2.The Hype- I ain't missing out anything and things going out in another person's life is not our concern and disusing that with hype is not good at all.
3.Self promotion- Yeah you are great now stop praising it.
and it goes on. Humans are social animals, but sometimes they behave more like animals than human beings. Every person is not a social butterfly. 😊
Thankyou for reading it here. Please drop a "Hi" in comment and be social. Don't forget to like it.
